S-130/S-190/L-180: Basic Wildland Firefighter
This course is designed to provide entry-level wildland firefighter skills, and is often required for participation in prescribed burning activities (Firefighter Type II). Participants will receive federally-recognized National Wildfire Coordinating Group (NWCG) certificates for S-130, S-190, and L-180. |
S-131: Firefighter Type I
This is not an entry level course. This course contains several tactical decision games designed to facilitate learning the objectives and class discussion. Topics include fireline reference materials, communications, and tactical decision making. |
S-212: Wildland Fire Chainsaws
This course prepares you to perform low complexity project and fireline tasks under the supervision of a fully qualified trainer. It will provide the basic skills required by NWCG member agencies for using chainsaws safely. |
Florida Certified Prescribed Burn Manager Training
Formerly the Interagency Prescribed Fire Training, this course is administered by the Florida Forest Service. This course is designed to train personnel in the basics of prescribed fire management, and is designed for students with little or no prescribed fire knowledge or experience. |
