Ben Nussbaum
I have worked for Sarasota County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources since 2019. The majority of that time has been in the Beaches and Water Access division, and my current position is Supervisor of Central County Beaches. The main focus of my job is the maintenance and operations of our beaches. I also assist with natural resource management projects and am part of Sarasota County's prescribed burn team. I graduated from the University of South Florida St. Petersburg in 2013 with a degree in accounting.
By attending the NATA courses, I have learned how to be a better caretaker of the natural areas in my parks. I don't have a background in biology or environmental studies, so being able to attend NATA was a huge benefit for me personally. Also, it was great being able to meet different people and learn about the agencies they work for. I believe having my CNAM will benefit my organization because I can pass on some of the information I've learned to my co-workers.
