Field Day Workshops 2023

On March 30th, 2023, the University of Florida SARE team presented some of the latest sustainable agriculture practices at the University of Florida Energy Research and Education Park in Gainesville, Florida. Farmers from all over Florida drove to our research site to learn about sustainable agricultural practices. Our team sought out to teach these farmers about things like cover crop, composting, and especially the role of beneficial microbes in agricultural soil. To do so, the SARE team employed various workshops to teach Florida farmers about these topics. Farmers viewed Rhizobium nodules under a microscope, made compost, and saw first-hand how these practices can not only be more sustainable, but also lead to higher productivity.
