Urban Ecology

The majority of humans now resides in urban and urbanizing areas, drastically altering the environment within and surrounding these communities. Our work focuses on the interplay between humans, the built environment, and ecological processes occurring within and around these areas. This research advances our understanding of the ecology of these areas. Based on this knowledge, we develop novel approaches to enhance environmental quality in these urban and urbanizing systems.
