Distance Learning Resources
On behalf of Florida Project Learning Tree, we hope that you and your families are safe and well.
We want you to know that PLT has a number of resources available to teachers and parents to support distance learning.
PLT Activity Resources
Nature is a great teacher! Check out the (free!) PLT Activities for Families to connect the children in your life to the outdoors and nature. Suitable for children ages 3 – 15, some activities work better for younger children, others are more suited for older children. The way you present them will change depending on your child’s knowledge and ability.
In addition, there are a number of videos showing these activities in action on the PLT Video YouTube Channel.
PLT Virtual & Online Training Resources
During summer of 2020, Florida PLT is excited to offer educators an opportunity to participate in a Virtual Professional Development Training Experience.
The Virtual Professional Development Training Experience includes two parts:
- Part 1: Participate in a 2-hour webinar to explore and experience PLT activities; hear from guest speakers on relevant environmental topics; and discuss ideas with other educators for using PLT to engage students in learning both indoors and outside.
- Part 2: Complete an online training (3 modules: Introduction to PLT; Activity Demonstration/Exploration; and “Hike” through the PreK-8 Environmental Education Activity Guide—including access to activity e-book). The online training is approximately 2 hours and can be completed at your own pace.
Register now for Part 1 (Webinar). Note: there are 4 webinar dates to choose from; you only need to register for one webinar.
In addition, National PLT offers several online professional development training courses. Go to shop.plt.org to purchase online training and e-books.
